THE WORLD’S 50 BEST HOTELS REVEALS EXTENDED 51-100 LIST
The World’s 50 Best Hotels has unveiled something truly exciting: its first-ever extended list of ranked hotels, from No.51 to No.100.

The World’s Best 50 Hotels unveils, for the first time, an expanded list, recognizing an even broader array of destinations, designs, and distinct personalities in hospitality.
This debut of the 51–100 list reflects a growing desire among global travelers for diversity, authenticity, and inspiration in their journeys. Compiled by The World’s 50 Best Hotels Academy—an expert panel of hoteliers, travel journalists, and seasoned globetrotters—the list celebrates exceptional properties across 24 territories and 40 cities, including 13 independent hotels. It’s a snapshot of the world’s most enchanting places to stay, from storied grand dames to hidden havens, all united by their commitment to excellence.

A Prelude to the Big Reveal
The expanded list serves as a tantalizing preview ahead of the grand unveiling of The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025, set for 30 October, when the full top 50 will be announced. But for now, this extended lineup offers an illuminating look at the diversity of world-class hospitality, showcasing how hotels continue to reinvent what it means to travel well.
“This year, we’re thrilled to honour even more of the world’s most outstanding hotels,” says Emma Sleight, Head of Content for The World’s 50 Best Hotels. “As we enter our third year, the extended 51–100 list allows us to spotlight a wider range of properties and destinations, reflecting the rich depth of global hospitality.”

Europe: The Heart of Hospitality
Europe once again reaffirms its reputation as a bastion of elegance and refinement, with 17 hotels earning spots on the 51–100 list. Italy leads the continent’s representation, boasting nine hotels—a testament to its enduring magnetism for lovers of la dolce vita. Notables include Hotel Cipriani in Venice (No.72), an icon of Venetian opulence, Casa Maria Luigia in Modena (No.82)—Massimo Bottura’s gastronomic retreat—and Portrait Milano (No.99), an artful blend of fashion, culture, and design.

Elsewhere in Europe, Sweden’s Ett Hem (No.89) makes a well-deserved return to the global spotlight. This discreet Stockholm townhouse perfectly encapsulates Scandinavian warmth and craftsmanship. Meanwhile, Türkiye marks its first entry into the rankings since the awards’ inception with Maçakızı (No.96), the effortlessly glamorous Bodrum beach resort where modern Mediterranean luxury meets laid-back charm.

Asia Ascends with Style and Serenity
Leading the pack on the extended list is Aman Nai Lert in Bangkok (No.51)—a sanctuary of tropical serenity that effortlessly melds Aman’s minimalist DNA with Thai elegance. Across the region, 16 Asian properties made the cut, underscoring the continent’s growing prominence in the world of luxury hospitality.

Hong Kong and Kyoto both shine with two properties each: The Peninsula Hong Kong (No.54)—a timeless icon of Eastern glamour—and Aman Kyoto (No.74), where minimalist pavilions float among whispering maple trees. India also earns recognition with three entries, including the jewel-box Jaipur retreat The Johri (No.93) and Rajasthan’s mystical Amanbagh (No.100), closing the list with serene symmetry.
And in a first for New Zealand, Huka Lodge (No.88) joins the 50 Best community—a riverside lodge near Taupo famed for its blend of wilderness and sophistication.

The Americas: Icons and Hidden Gems
Across the Atlantic, North America shines brightly—particularly New York City, which emerges as a powerhouse of innovation and glamour. The Big Apple lands four hotels on the list, including the whimsical Fifth Avenue Hotel (No.75) and the effortlessly cool Greenwich Hotel (No.77). Out west, California’s legendary Beverly Hills Hotel (No.65) and romantic San Ysidro Ranch (No.68) make their mark as icons of timeless allure.

Further south, Mexico continues to enchant travelers with its fusion of natural beauty and design excellence. Four Seasons Tamarindo (No.55) and Montage Los Cabos (No.67) represent the country’s coastal sophistication—lush, contemporary, and deeply rooted in place.
In South America, two exquisite Belmond properties stand tall: Hotel das Cataratas (No.76), nestled by the thunderous Iguassu Falls, and Palacio Nazarenas (No.87), a restored convent in Cusco that channels centuries of Andean spirit into modern luxury.

A Celebration of Global Hospitality
Together, these 50 extraordinary hotels form a tapestry of global travel—each one offering a distinct narrative of design, culture, and connection. From intimate independent hideaways to legendary grande dames, the list demonstrates that luxury is no longer confined to marble lobbies or Michelin-starred dining. Instead, it’s about authenticity, place, and the way a hotel can make you feel.
For travelers seeking inspiration for their next great escape—or for hoteliers aiming to understand the new benchmarks of excellence—this expanded list is both a roadmap and a revelation.

The stage is now set for the main event: the unveiling of The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025, which will be livestreamed globally at 20:00 UK time on 30 October on the 50 Best YouTube channel. But until then, the 51–100 list invites us to dream a little wider, travel a little deeper, and celebrate the artistry of hotels that continue to redefine what it means to feel at home—no matter where you are in the world.
