Grand Canyon
Experience the luxury of a bygone era at the newly refurbished Grand Canyon Railway Hotel. The 298-room hotel is right next door to the train depot and just a block away from downtown Williams and historic Route 66. Our packages make it easy to plan a Grand Canyon vacation. With a variety of amenities such as complimentary wi-fi, an indoor pool and hot tub, delicious dining options at the Fred Harvey Restaurant and Spenser’s Pub, the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel is the perfect place to stay before embarking on your grandest of journeys!
Want to give yourself the ultimate experience? Couple a trip aboard the Grand Canyon Railway with a stay inside Grand Canyon National Park. Whether you choose to stay at The El Tovar Hotel (the crown jewel that has housed past presidents, dignitaries, and even one of The Beatles), Bright Angel Lodge & Cabins (located steps away from the rim), Kachina or Thunderbird Lodges (where canyon views can be seen right from your window), or Maswik Lodge (nestled in the middle of a peaceful Ponderosa pine forest), you can expect a level of hospitality that is only dwarfed by the majesty of the canyon.
Grand Canyon National Park Lodges opened Maswik Lodge South in 2022, the first new hotel in the Grand Canyon National Park in over 50 years. Maswik South rooms are located in four 2-story buildings featuring 90-standard guest rooms and 30 kitchenettes. All guest rooms have a small outdoor patio and rooms are accessed from an interior hallway with stairs or an elevator available for second floor rooms, which is great for families and those traveling with disabilities.
Oasis at Death Valley
Just off of a $150 million renaissance, The Oasis at Death Valley encompasses two hotels — The AAA Four-Diamond historic Inn at Death Valley with 66 completely renovated rooms and 22 private casitas (outfitted with a personal golf cart) and the family-friendly Ranch at Death Valley with 80 new bungalow-style, stand-alone cottages just steps away from the revitalized Town Square, including new retail shops, a restored saloon, and the resort’s newest and seemingly favorite attraction: a real ice cream/soda fountain shop. In addition to the two hotels, the property offers gardens, date palm groves, bubbling brooks, spring-fed swimming pools, and an 18-hole golf course (the lowest in the world). Death Valley is known for its light and almost artistic colorful beauty and exceptionally dark skies where the Milky Way can be seen with the naked eye. Besides hiking and sightseeing, outdoor enthusiasts will also find tennis, cycling, horseback riding, jeep tours, stargazing and more.
Zion
Named for the Hebrew word “refuge,” Zion National Park in Utah is one of the most beautiful places on earth with its apricot-colored canyon and is open in the winter. Zion is famed for seemingly endless breathtaking views. Only166 miles from Las Vegas the juxtaposition of city verses nature could not be more apparent.
After careful consideration and consultation with local and state health authorities, Zion opened in May and will continue to welcome visitors this winter. While temperatures and the weather vary, the winter can be a good time to bike the scenic drive, hike, cross-country ski, snowshoe up to Kolob Terrace Road, and view the wildlife. There are many sunshine filled days with moderate temperatures throughout the winter.
Xanterra Travel Collection operates the only “in-park” lodging, Zion National Park Lodge, and is your direct in-park source for activities and lodging in Zion National Park. Stay in one of the spacious lodge rooms, or one of the quaint Western Cabins and embrace the special delights of this unique experience.
Windstar Cruises is an intimate, small ship cruise company with six yachts that accommodate between 148 and 342 guests each. New in 2023/24: first-time cruises to the Middle East; a vegan menu that’s also gluten-, salt-, and oil-free; an expansion of the line’s already incredible offerings in Tahiti + French Polynesia; and new specialty themed suites incorporating sister properties The Broadmoor and Sea Island.
Since 1901, the Grand Canyon Railway has been taking passengers on a fabled journey to the heart of one of the seven wonders of the world. Grand Canyon Railway is more than just a mode of transportation: it’s a trip back in time on lovingly restored rail cars with entertaining musicians and the antics of cowboy characters. Out your window, the terrain changes from high desert to prairie, prairie to pine. It’s a view that’s ever-changing until you come across a view so brilliant, it could very well change you.
