WES ANDERSON DESIGNS BAR LUCE IN MILAN
Film auteur Wes Anderson has long been known for his highly stylized and beautiful sets, but until now, there was no way to actually set foot in his whimsical world. That’s all changed with the recent opening of Bar Luce in Milan, which features a pastel-hued interior design courtesy of the mind behind critically-acclaimed movies such as The Royal Tennenbaums, Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Rushmore.
Located in the city’s brand new Fondazione Prada complex sponsored by luxury brand Prada, this lovely new spot is the perfect meeting place for coffee or drinks, and comes complete with pinball machines with Wes Anderson-movie themes in addition to a vintage jukebox stocked only with Italian and French ’45s.
“While I do think it would make a pretty good movie set, I think it would be an even better place to write a movie. I tried to make it a bar I would want to spend my own non-fictional afternoons in”, says Anderson about Bar Luce.
