A FRESH VOICE IN BANGKOK! voco BANGKOK SURAWONG TO OPEN IN DECEMBER
Bangkok’s hotel scene is about to welcome a game-changing debut. Later this year, the Thai capital will celebrate the opening of voco Bangkok Surawong, the country’s very first hotel under IHG Hotels & Resorts’ fastest-growing premium brand.

Designed to blend upscale comfort with playful character, voco Bangkok Surawong will introduce travelers to a refreshing new kind of urban hospitality—laid-back yet distinctive, reliable yet full of surprise.
But beyond architecture and amenities, a hotel is only as strong as the people who bring it to life. This week, IHG officially unveiled the senior leadership team who will shape voco Bangkok Surawong’s story: Walid Ouezini as General Manager, Wipusana Sriwieng as Director of Sales & Marketing, and Patthira “Anne” Weir as Director of Marketing Communications. Together, this trio embodies experience, creativity, and a shared vision of what Bangkok’s newest address should stand for.
A HOTEL THAT BREATHES BANGKOK’S ENERGY
Perched along lively Surawong Road, voco Bangkok Surawong finds itself in a neighborhood where old-world charm meets the city’s buzzing modern spirit. Just steps away from Silom’s nightlife, Sathorn’s business hubs, and Siam Square’s cultural epicenter, the property is perfectly placed to cater to both leisure seekers and business travelers. Guests will be welcomed into 244 thoughtfully designed rooms that balance contemporary comforts with subtle local touches, echoing voco’s philosophy of creating spaces that feel both familiar and intriguingly different.
At the heart of voco is a set of brand hallmarks—“Come on in,” “Me time,” and “voco life”—each meant to shape the guest journey. Expect intuitive service that feels warm but never overbearing, social spaces that encourage connections, and plenty of opportunities for private moments of recharge. As General Manager Walid Ouezini describes it: “Our vision is to position voco Bangkok Surawong as a welcoming hub where both travelers and locals feel naturally at ease. It’s upscale but never pretentious, comfortable yet full of personality. We want every guest to experience connection, warmth, and a touch of delightful surprise.”

voco: A BRAND ON THE RISE
Since its launch just a few years ago, voco hotels has seen meteoric growth. Today, the brand boasts 100 open hotels across 25 countries, with nearly as many in the pipeline. In Thailand, voco Bangkok Surawong marks not only the brand’s national debut, but also the tenth IHG brand to enter the Kingdom, joining a stellar line-up that includes Six Senses, InterContinental, Kimpton, Vignette Collection, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and Staybridge Suites.
What sets voco apart? Its ability to combine the reassurance of a global name with the individual charm of a boutique property. No two voco hotels are the same, yet all share an unstuffy, welcoming vibe where guests can truly unwind. For Bangkok—where travelers are spoiled for choice—the arrival of a brand that offers something “refreshingly different” couldn’t be timelier.
WHY TRAVELERS SHOULD BE EXCITED
Imagine checking into a hotel where the welcome is genuine, the design is stylish without being over-designed, and the atmosphere feels less like a transaction and more like a warm embrace. That’s the essence of voco. From cozy corners for solo downtime to vibrant social spaces designed for conversations over cocktails, voco Bangkok Surawong promises to deliver the best of both worlds.
And with Bangkok’s unique rhythm right outside its doors—historic temples, street food alleys, art enclaves, and rooftop bars—the hotel is poised to become a natural extension of the city itself. Whether you’re a first-time visitor discovering Bangkok’s magic or a seasoned traveler looking for a new kind of stay, voco Bangkok Surawong is set to become your go-to address.
A NEW CHAPTER FOR BANGKOK HOSPITALITY
As anticipation builds for the late-2025 opening, one thing is certain: voco Bangkok Surawong is more than just another new hotel in a crowded city. It represents a shift in how upscale hospitality is delivered—casual yet polished, playful yet reliable. With Walid, Wipusana, and Anne steering the ship, Bangkok can look forward to a destination that celebrates both the global strengths of IHG and the local character of Surawong.
For IHG Hotels & Resorts, this launch is yet another step in expanding its footprint in one of Asia’s most dynamic markets. For Bangkok’s visitors and residents, it’s the promise of a new favorite gathering place, one that’s as stylish as it is welcoming.
The doors of voco Bangkok Surawong will soon open—inviting the world to “Come on in.”
