Winning four Tony Awards, The Outsiders, cinched the titles of Best Musical, Best Director in a Musical, Best Lighting Design in a Musical, and Best Sound Design in a Musical. Set in Oklahoma in 1967, The Outsiders reimagines the compelling book’s fight for a quest for purpose in an unaccepting world, highlighting the bonds that brothers share in a story of resilience.

Hell’s Kitchen, a coming of-age musical set in New York City in the 90s and brought to life by Alicia Keys’ Grammy-winning music, received two awards. Maleah Joi Moon won Best Lead Actress, while Kecia Lewis-Evans won Best Featured Actress.

Also ending the night with two awards, Suffs won Best Original Score and Best Book of a Musical. Suffs guides audiences through the history of the women’s suffrage movement commencing in 1913, while illuminating the remarkable individuals and events pivotal in paving the path towards gender equality.

Rounding out the winners in The Broadway Collection, The Great Gatsby’s Linda Cho took home the award for Best Costume Design in a Musical. The Great Gatsby, based off the novel by the acclaimed mind of F. Scott Fitzgerald, follows the mysterious and wealthy Jay Gatsby and his unrelenting passion for Daisy Buchanan, exploring love, ambition, and the American Dream.
