PALAZZO DI VARIGNANA DEBUTS NEW LANDSCAPE GARDEN AND ANNOUNCES A NEW LUXURY VILLA

Palazzo di Varignana Resort & Spa, a 90 room converted 18th-century Tuscan residence located on 75 acres of picturesque manicured grounds in Bologna, debuts a sprawling three-acre landscape garden enriching the natural beauty of this already stunning property. With additional improvements and expansion in the pipeline for 2016, Palazzo di Varignana is positioned to be the resort of choice for families, couples, and groups in this much sought after Italian region.

Immersed in the beautiful scenery of the Emilian countryside, Palazzo di Varignana’s inspiring garden was designed by architect Antonio Perazzi in 2008. The project is part of a careful study of the morphology in the territory’s regional geography. In 2015, Sandro Ricci designed the landscape to connect the garden with the existing park using his botanical, agronomic and architectural knowledge, creating a unique harmonious environment.

After a small passageway of ash trees, the garden opens up to reveal rows of rose bushes harmoniously divided by hedges of ginko biloba, hornbeam, maple, cherry trees, and dogwoods creating a welcoming labyrinth with thoughtfully placed water ponds throughout. Numerous gravel or grassed pathways allow guests to stroll by vegetable gardens and fruit orchards producing cherries, figs and apples that are used in the resort’s own restaurant.

Palazzo di Varignana Resort & Spa is honored that the garden is now listed with the esteemed Italian network, “Great Italian Gardens”.

VILLA AMAGIOIA

Set to debut in June 2016, Villa Amagioia is located in the heart of the landscape garden nestled high on a hill for privacy and includes two floors with five bedrooms accommodating up to 10 guests. The Villa is ideal either for one or two families as it is composed of independent but interconnecting apartments with two separate entrances.

Future expansion in 2016 includes upgrades to the spa that will double in size with new thematic areas and a new pool; improvements to the Belvedere Banqueting Hall with a new rooftop lounge providing sweeping views of the property and garden; a new dedicated children’s pool and a four-hole golf driving range. In addition, Palazzo di Varignana plans to add 45 executive bedrooms and three exclusive Suites by the end of 2017, increasing its capacity by 50%.
