LUXURY UNLOCKED: NYC UNVEILS BOLD VISION TO ATTRACT AFFLUENT TRAVELERS
In a bold new move, New York City Tourism + Conventions has unveiled a strategic vision to attract high-end travelers from around the world in 2025 and beyond—ensuring the Big Apple remains the ultimate destination for luxury seekers.

New York City is rolling out the red carpet like never before. With its unmistakable energy, world-renowned culture, and unparalleled luxury offerings, the city is now setting its sights on an elite global audience.
In 2024 alone, NYC welcomed a record-breaking 10.7 million affluent travelers—a remarkable 23% increase over pre-pandemic numbers in 2019. Though this segment accounts for just 17% of the city’s total visitation, it delivers a staggering economic impact, contributing three times more than the average visitor. That’s a level of influence the city is embracing with open arms—and well-appointed suites.
“The beauty of New York City is that there is something for everyone—and we’re proud to provide new tools and inspirational content for luxury travel advisors and their clients,” said Julie Coker, President and CEO of NYC Tourism + Conventions. “This influential segment delivers extraordinary economic impact, and we remain focused on fostering strong trade relationships and showcasing the one-of-a-kind NYC opportunities—from world-class accommodations and dining to culture and shopping—that can only be found across all five boroughs.”
