NEW FIVE STAR HOTEL LE GRAND MAZARIN OPENS IN PARIS
Maisons Pariente, the luxury hotel collection founded by Patrick Pariente and his two daughters, Leslie Kouhana and Kimberley Cohen, has announced the opening of Le Grand Mazarin, the group’s first urban property in the Marais District.
Situated at the corner of Rue des Archives and Rue de la Verrerie, Le Grand Mazarin has 50 rooms, 11 suites, an indoor pool, a Hammam, a fitness studio, a speakeasy cabaret, two festive bars and the Ashkenazi restaurant, Boubalé, led by Michelin-starred chef Assaf Granit.
Interior architect Martin Brudnizki restored the landmark property, consisting of three 14th-century buildings, to its original grandeur. Each piece of décor selected by Brudnizki pays tribute to French classicism.
At the center of Le Grand Mazarin lies The Boubalé Restaurant, named after a Yiddish term that translates to “my little darling.” This phrase is commonly used by Eastern European grandmothers to express affection, and it’s exemplified by Chef Assaf Granit, who has reinterpreted the Ashkenazi culinary traditions of his childhood, crafting delicate dishes that takes guests on a gastronomic journey to the borders of Central Europe and the Mediterranean. Alternately, Le Bar de Boubalé offers a selection of unique signature cocktails and a menu well suited for guests to savor at night. Additionally, several times a week, guests can experience Le Cabaret, a speakeasy-esque setting that continually transforms its decor and program.
The hotel is also home to an indoor pool and a Hammam. The ceiling mosaic that spans the entire room is the work of Jacques Merle, who drew inspiration from the poetic imagination of Jean Cocteau.
