Loire Valley Lodges Unveils Three New Lodges and a New Dining Concept
Loire Valley Lodges, the boutique treehouse retreat set within 300 hectares of the Duporterie forest in France’s celebrated “Valley of the Kings”, just two hours from Paris, continues to champion a different vision of hospitality – one that is more sensory, quieter and deeply connected to nature. This summer, the 1 Michelin keyed Loire Valley Lodges unveils three new lodge suites designed by artists, a new relaxed dining experience with Ardent Summer Session, and the launch of “Passion Stays” – tailor-made escapes inspired by guests’ interests and the cultural, natural and gastronomic treasures of the Loire Valley. These new experiences further enrich the estate’s offering, alongside the continued growth of LaFerme, its thriving agricultural heart that connects the land directly to the cuisine and philosophy of the retreat.
Ardent Summer Session | A New Dining Experience
The culinary offering at Loire Valley Lodges is evolving. Ardent and Asperatus have come together to create Ardent Summer Session, the estate’s new relaxed fine-dining concept, which will continue throughout the summer, autumn and winter complimenting the changing seasons.
Open every day for lunch and dinner, it offers a more casual and convivial approach to fine dining while maintaining the creativity, quality and seasonality at the heart of the Loire Valley Lodges dining experience. The menu follows a classic structure, with seasonal sharing plates, starters, main courses, cheeses and desserts, complemented by a five-course tasting menu featuring highlights from the à la carte selection.
The kitchen draws inspiration from the surrounding forest and the produce of the estate’s own LaFerme, celebrating vegetables, fire cooking and locally sourced ingredients through refined, instinctive and seasonal cuisine.
Evolving with each harvest, the dishes showcase the freshest ingredients available throughout the year. Summer signature plates include red tuna lightly grilled over binchotan charcoal, spelt risotto with charred leeks, monkfish delicately paired with wild flowers, and Noire du Berry chicken served with buckwheat, each reflecting the restaurant’s creative, nature-inspired approach to contemporary cuisine. Desserts are equally inventive, with flavours inspired by Scots pine, spruce and ground ivy, offering unexpected and memorable finishes.
Guests may dine beside the swimming pool, in the aromatic herb courtyard, or indoors, depending on the mood and the moment.
Three New Lodges | When Art Becomes A Place to Live
Suspended four metres above the forest floor among the treetops, the three new lodges extend Loire Valley Lodges’ original vision: creating immersive living spaces where architecture, contemporary art and nature exist in constant dialogue. These additions bring the estate to 21 private lodges.
Loire Valley Lodges is now also proudly dog-friendly, welcoming four-legged companions with thoughtful touches and VIP treatment.
Into the Wild – by Anne-Caroline Frey
Conceived by the founder herself, Anne-Caroline Frey, Into the Wild draws inspiration from Africa’s vast landscapes and the world of renowned photographer Peter Beard.
Natural materials, earthy tones and references to iconic wildlife photography create a contemplative, untamed atmosphere – an immersive sensory escape where the French forest meets the spirit of the African wilderness.
Reflets – by David Sitbon
With Reflets, artist David Sitbon has created a vibrant, sun-filled lodge infused with warm colours and contemporary energy.
Photography, textured materials and luminous hues intertwine throughout the space, celebrating movement, love and light in an artistic, ever-changing environment.
Ride My Bike – by Thalia Lempert
New York artist Thalia Lempert dedicates this lodge to the bicycle as a symbol of freedom, travel and independence.
Designed around multiple shades of green, Ride My Bike blends the aesthetic of Brooklyn boutique hotels – reflecting the artist’s hometown – with the refreshing spirit of the great outdoors and renewal.
