GRAND HYATT SINGAPORE REOPENED AFTER YEARS OF TRANSFORMATION
After an ambitious, multi-year transformation, Grand Hyatt Singapore has officially reopened—ushering in a bold new chapter for one of the city’s most beloved landmarks.

Long considered a cornerstone of Orchard Road’s hospitality scene, Grand Hyatt rebirth seamlessly blends design, culture, gastronomy, wellbeing, and sustainability. What was once simply a five-star stay has evolved into something far more holistic: a living, breathing embodiment of modern Singaporean luxury.
“As one of Singapore’s original international hotels, Grand Hyatt Singapore has always been a place to stay and celebrate,” says Edouard Demptos, the property’s General Manager. “It’s also a place to belong.” For over fifty years, the hotel has welcomed travelers and locals alike with its signature warmth, and its newly unveiled spaces now capture that same spirit in a refreshingly contemporary way.

Designing a Dual Experience
The transformation unfolds across two distinct wings, each with its own soul and story.
The Grand Wing, designed by Tokyo-based firm Strickland, offers a refined city escape infused with unmistakable Singaporean character. Its 407 rooms and suites feature open-concept layouts—sophisticated yet inviting—with soft transitions between work, rest, and entertainment. Bathrooms gleam in striking Patagonia stone, while subtle Peranakan accents nod to Singapore’s rich cultural heritage. Throughout, an octagonal motif pays homage to the building’s original architecture, linking the hotel’s storied past to its present evolution.

By contrast, the Terrace Wing, designed in collaboration with the UK’s Grant Associates, brings a serene resort sensibility to the city’s busiest boulevard. Here, 292 guestrooms are immersed in lush greenery, koi ponds, and cascading waterfalls inspired by the Japanese art of shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing. Natural textures—wood, marble, and linen—complement muted tones and soft light. For those seeking the ultimate in tranquility, the five Garden Studio Rooms open directly onto the wellness lawn and lap pool, creating an intimate retreat within the city.
Together, the two wings house 699 rooms and suites, one of the largest luxury inventories in Singapore. Highlights include three Grand Presidential Suites, each a sophisticated private residence complete with expansive living and dining areas, curated artwork, and sweeping city views. Families are thoughtfully considered too, with a wide selection of connecting room configurations for multigenerational travel.
The newly relocated Grand Club Lounge—a refined mezzanine sanctuary—offers club guests made-to-order breakfasts, evening cocktails, and personalized concierge services in a stylish space designed for conversation and reflection.

A Culinary Renaissance
Dining has always been at the heart of Grand Hyatt Singapore, and the reimagined hotel doubles down on its culinary legacy. Home to seven distinctive venues, it’s a veritable journey through global flavors and local heritage.
At the forefront is Le Pristine Singapore, marking the Southeast Asian debut of Michelin-starred chef Sergio Herman. Blending Italian sophistication with Zeeland soul, the restaurant’s art-filled interiors set the stage for inventive dishes such as Signature Seafood Orecchiette with langoustine and Pizzette King Chilli Crab, alongside whimsical desserts served tableside.
For a true taste of Singapore, StraitsKitchen continues to reign as one of the city’s best-loved Halal-certified buffets, spotlighting classic dishes from chilli crab to laksa. Nearby, Pete’s Place—a local institution since 1973—returns under chef Salvatore Catania, bringing southern Italian warmth to Orchard Road with a new chef’s table, antipasti bar, and a Negroni Flight worth lingering over.
By the pool, Oasis serves ocean-fresh seafood, BBQ favorites, and crafted cocktails amid tropical foliage, while BRIX, the hotel’s iconic subterranean nightspot, once again pulses to the rhythm of live international bands. Upstairs, 10|Scottsoffers Mediterranean-inspired small plates and elegant afternoon teas, while The Shop provides a refined mix of café culture and retail indulgence. The legendary Martini Bar, with its extensive handcrafted selection, remains the perfect prelude—or encore—to any evening in the city.

Wellness Reimagined: The Damai Experience
If the hotel is the body, then Damai is its soul. This newly conceived wellness destination merges science with ritual to create deeply restorative experiences. Treatments combine modern therapies—light, heat, vibration—with oceanic minerals and artisanal products from The Tides and Ground. Guests can immerse themselves in the Halo Steam Roominfused with Himalayan salt, the Air Lounge Hydro Pool, or the innovative Mind Body Therapy Wall, the first of its kind in a Singapore hotel.
Fitness enthusiasts are equally well cared for. Flooded with natural light, Damai’s gym features Technogym equipment, outdoor wellness lawns, and Southeast Asia’s first HYROX training club, catering to both casual movers and competitive athletes.

Sustainability at Its Core
Long before eco-consciousness became a trend, Grand Hyatt Singapore was already a leader in sustainability. Today, the hotel operates entirely on renewable electricity and continues to pioneer practices that set industry benchmarks. Food waste is converted into fish feed and fertilizer through a closed-loop aquaponics system, supporting the hotel’s rooftop gardens. Zero-waste cooking, carbon-tracked menus, and a contactless WasteMaster system reduce environmental impact across operations. Even the water bottling process is managed in-house, eliminating single-use plastics from rooms and event spaces.
Certified by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and awarded Green Mark Platinum status by Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority, Grand Hyatt Singapore stands as a model for responsible luxury.
With its grand redesign, Grand Hyatt Singapore has not only redefined what it means to stay in the heart of Orchard Road—it has reimagined the very essence of hospitality. This is not just a hotel reborn, but a sanctuary where design, wellbeing, and sustainability coexist in perfect harmony.
More than a place to stay, it is once again a place to belong.
