EASTER CELEBRATIONS AT THE PENINSULA PARIS
From 15 March to 15 April, The Peninsula Paris celebrates Easter with exclusive, limited-edition Easter eggs created by Pastry Chef Julien Alvarez, while other Easter offerings include a gourmet brunch and Afternoon Tea with magical Easter egg hunts for adults and children alike.
With only 30 crafted, The Peninsula Paris’ limited edition Easter egg is a conceptual and poetic masterpiece, designed for exquisite tasting pleasure this springtime.
This year, Pastry Chef Julien Alvarez has taken inspiration from the theatrical universe of LiLi – the hotel’s gastronomic Cantonese restaurant – to create a veritable sculpture of sublime flavours, decorated as an elegant reinterpretation of the shimmering colours of Chinese opera and the shape of traditions Chinese screens.
In his hands, chocolate becomes a surprisingly malleable material as airy spaces are created with simplicity and grandeur. Colour and texture intertwine to sensual effect: a structure of red velvet on a base of deep blue (resembling the blue marble at the entrance of LiLi), with white sesame decoration.
The creation draws inspiration from Asian desserts; crunchy roasted and caramelised dried fruit, hazelnut praline, puffed rice and sesame nougat elevate the taste of the chocolate and offer a perfect harmony of flavour and texture.
This Easter, adults and children alike are invited to discover the refined sweet and savoury creations carefully prepared by Laurent Poitevin, Head Chef at Le Lobby restaurant and Julien Alvarez, the hotel’s Pastry Chef. A sophisticated brunch including a glass of Champagne, an afternoon tea focused on the sweet delights of chocolate, and a magical Easter egg hunt around the hotel’s Rotunda, transformed into an enchanted forest for the occasion.
