141 guest rooms, suites and pool villas fuse authentic luxury with evocative Sri Lankan accents. Private balconies and terraces draw the eye to lush garden, ocean or river scenery. Rooms with signature amenities tempt lazy soaks in the bathtub, perhaps with a bottle selected from the wine humidor. Interconnecting, disabled and poolside guest rooms tailor the charms. Suites offer a comfy lounge and the one-of-a-kind One Bedroom Presidential Suite boasts a private plunge pool and sundeck. All suites and villas allow guests to listen to their favourite soundtracks on the Bose Bluetooth speaker, and a Villa Host is on hand for all special requests. One- and Two Bedroom Villas are enclosed by a garden terrace, allowing guests to swim in their private pool, sunbathe on the deck and dine outside in blissful seclusion. For shared holidays with family and friends, some of the One Bedroom Garden Pool Villas feature interconnecting gardens.

The resort is ideally located for travellers seeking adventure. Scenic helicopter flights reveal a bird’s eye view of Kalutara’s exotic beauty. Guests can head out for a picnic beside a waterfall, go river fishing on a traditional boat with a local guide, and soak up the romance of a sunset river cruise. Local treasures include the architectural splendour of Richmond Castle and the world’s only hollow Buddhist shrine. Tours of tea plantations and the Dutch fort in Galle relive colonial times. Nature highlights range from dolphin and whale watching boat trips, to national park safaris, the conservation efforts of a turtle hatchery and exploring virgin rainforests.

Anantara Kalutara Resort is Anantara’s second resort destination to open in Sri Lanka. The brand’s first resort, Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle, has already set the benchmark for luxury resorts in Sri Lanka following its opening in January this year.
