AN ITALIAN AFFAIR! SIX SENSES TO OPEN NEW HOTELS IN MILAN AND LAKE COMO
Following the debut of Six Senses Rome in 2023 at the beautifully restored Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini, the brand will expand with the addition of Six Senses Milan and Six Senses Lake Como. These properties will join the previously announced Six Senses Antognolla in Umbria, further solidifying the brand’s presence in Italy.

Six Senses Milan
Located at Via Brera 19, in the heart of Milan’s vibrant Brera district, Six Senses Milan is surrounded by the city’s rich artistic and cultural heritage. The neighborhood, famous for its galleries and the renowned Pinacoteca Museum, offers a serene counterpoint to the energetic pace of Milan. The hotel’s design reflects a timeless Milanese aesthetic, with details like arabescato marble, antique brass finishes, handmade smoked glass, and mosaic accents, immersing guests in a world of craftsmanship and elegance.
Six Senses Milan emphasizes sustainability throughout, from the choice of materials to the furnishings. The property will also feature an Earth Lab, a peaceful internal courtyard, and a restaurant and deli that focus on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Of its 68 guest rooms, 15 are suites, and two boast private plunge pools. As with all Six Senses properties, the hotel will offer a state-of-the-art spa for holistic treatments, along with a rooftop bar and sky pool to complete the luxurious experience.

Six Senses Lake Como
Long a favorite retreat for the Milanese elite and inspiration for romantic poets like Wordsworth, Shelley, and Byron, Lake Como continues to enchant visitors with its breathtaking beauty. Six Senses Lake Como will be housed in the fully restored Grand Hotel Cadenabbia, the first hotel to open on Lake Como’s western shores in 1820. Situated amid historic gardens, the hotel will offer a luxurious retreat that blends the natural beauty and cultural legacy of the region.
The property’s six-story structure will be reimagined to feature 102 spacious guest rooms and suites, with ample room for spa and wellness facilities. The resort will include an outdoor pool and sun deck, along with a floating pool on the lake itself. Dining will be a key attraction, with a specialty restaurant and a fourth-floor terrace bar and restaurant offering panoramic views of the lake, destined to inspire creativity and romance.

Six Senses Rome
In 2023, IHG more than doubled its Luxury & Lifestyle presence in Italy, including the return of the InterContinental brand with the opening of InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace. Six Senses Milan and Six Senses Lake Como will be part of a growing Italian portfolio of 30 open hotels, with eight more in development, including new entries from the Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and Vignette Collection brands.
